So That's my version of the Iron man poster. I really like manipulating images, so it was a fun exercise done at CSUF at Cliff Cramps class (Special Studies in Illustration). Cheryl Savala which is also an instructor at CSUF also helpled with the process.

Superstitious

So, this is the poster os my senior film project "Superstitious" which was done on Cliff Cramp's class (Special Studies in Illustration, at CSUF). Cliff gave me really good tips on this illustration.

The Tease Trailler is almost done, and the actual fim will be finished by 2010.

So, it’s been a couple months since I posted something new, and here is what I have been learning at CSUF with teacher Cliff Cramp in the Corel Painter class.
The apple paintings were the first exercises in class and they were definitely fun and helpful.

I Believe that half part of our lives are absolutely up to us, even though I understand that we don’t have control of all circumstances in life. But remember:

Our actions will show measurable consequences.

Therefore, we decide how we want to spend our time, choose our careers, whom to share body, life and soul, money and energy with. We can choose the way we interact with others, and attitudes.
But the greatest thing we can ever choose is our THOUGHTS!

3D Enviroment

This is the 3D world I am creating for my short Film “Superstitious”, but it is still in development…I want to make sure that the final idea will be something that blends well with my characters.
I was inspired by San Francisco’s landscape and architecture somewhat. I love the fact that the city is not too spread out like LA, and it has “crazy” roads that go up and down as you drive on the streets, which reminds me of Brazil, my hometown.
I have to work on textures, bump maps and specular lights… Meaning that I still have a lot to be completed.

HAe Kim 3D Character Model

This is Hae Kim, my first 3d Character completed in the modeling class at CSUF last Spring/2008 with Professor Chuck Grieb. She is the main character of my short film, “Superstitious”, that will be completed next year.
I was driven to create this character just because I have so many friends with an Asian background or ethnicity. Some of them are my best friends indeed. I admire them tremendously not only because of their principles and manners but also because of their culture, discipline, food, attitude, etc… so I decided to create an Asian character that is just the opposite. Why not? My character is a stressed out lady on her mid fifties that is also impatient with people, unhappy with life and suffers of anxiety. (Don’t we all???) Ohhh, I almost forgot, she has ADD too! After all, she is an hilarious person and a smoker too!!!
There are some changes I still have to make in the 3d model. I need to spend more time on the textures and bump maps.
I can’t wait to start working on this short. It will be a lot of fun!!!!

This Fantasy Animal was created in the animal drawing class offered at CSUF teached by Marshall Vandruff, who is indeed a great artist and great instructor. I learned a lot about anatomy and construction. Drawing animals is actually very challenging, but designing creatures is a lot of fun!

Le Bourdon Background

I actually thought about this background for a couple days. It looks simple but it has a purpose. The way Georges get into to the scene is purposefully done so that he would be placed in the center of the scene, since he is the main character. He stays at Lilly’s (restaurant guest that seats on the single table) right hand side. Lilly seats alone at a single table, just because she is so full of herself and she has no one that stands her. The curtains have different colors. The right hand side curtain is darker because it represents Lilly’s mental confusion and rudeness. If you ever have a chance, watch the film under the animation section and you will see that Lilly looks like a vulture. It’s funny because vultures shouldn’t be picky at all, and Lilly is extremely demanding to the point that she is obnoxious.

What if a Flour Sack could Ice Skate, do some back flips and spin…Heap! I do love Ice skating, it’s one of my favorite sports! It’s all about Great action and exquisite movements!

By the way, I though about Beyonce’s song “Crazy in Love”, when executing the animation.

I think as a society we should start practicing different ways of approaching people, therefore we should be more patient, empathetic and appreciative with others.
Let’s not give ‘Georges” a hard time!
